H"Ed" Carrier was built as a part of ME 218b which is the second course in Stanford's graduate mechatronics curriculum. We were a team of 4 Mechanical Engineers with enough background in Electrical and Software Engineering and completed the project in a span of 3 weeks.
The project gave us an opportunity to apply everything we learned in the course to build a mobile robot from the ground up that could basically navigate around in an arena obeying instructions, locate and shoot nerf balls at a goal and other robots and try to lance other robots with a foam lance autonomously.
